Messy Fund Update

Latest update

Fund / Signal update · 27 June 2026

Each week: what changed across our Guru funds on Base — Guru Lotus read-only NAV snapshots (messybased, messyinfra) plus micro test funds on Guru (base01, base02) that run the full screening → council → target-change workflow. Those micro funds are traded by the fund workflow; target changes execute manually or automatically only after council resolution. We pair that with macro, narratives, and screening context: what moved, what was passed on, and what the process teaches about AI-managed Funds. Published for transparency only; this update does not execute trades or rotate the books.

This week at a glance

  • Macro currently reads R- (32.0/100). The score updates daily; each council session uses the latest macro read available at meeting time.
  • base01 held 5 council sessions this week — 3 executed rotations on Base and 2 hold reviews.
  • Decentralized Finance (DeFi) leads narrative momentum (+10.7% over 15 days) — thematic heat, not a buy signal on its own.
  • REAL showed up consistently across fund screens this week — a leading aggregate candidate, not an automatic trade.

What's new in the app

  • Fund pages in the app now include full council minutes — open any fund and tap Council to read what the portfolio committee debated, voted on, and whether trades were executed. How the AI investment council works →
  • We publish two live workflow test funds (base01 and base02) alongside the read-only Guru Lotus snapshots. Every change on those test funds goes through screening, council review, and signed execution — the same path future AI-managed funds will use.

Target finalization: Target finalization confirmed the ratified posture and produced a certified target structure for execution.

The main risk was the mixed fresh-and-aggregate evidence on the preferred add, which lowered conviction relative to a purely fresh-confirmed candidate.

Action items: The session closed as resolved and completed, with the fund mutated, reconciled, and handed off under the approved target-change decision.

Market regime — macro economics

32.04
R- — Risk Off
The Effective Score of 32 (on 0–100) signals a **Risk-Off regime (R-)** with material headwinds offsetting modest tailwinds. Global liquidity expansion and a normalized yield curve provide a base of support, but Bitcoin spot ETF outflows extending into a seventh consecutive day, combined with geopolitical escalation (US military strikes on Iran) and regulatory tightening (Spain's MiCA stance, EU DeFi oversight push), have compressed institutional conviction and forced a 10.95-point qualitative downgrade from the base score of 43. This matters now because crypto is caught between long-term tokenization momentum (Securitize's NYSE listing) and immediate deleveraging pressure, leaving retail portfolios vulnerable to sharp intra-week swings.

What this teaches the future Fund Agent

1
Macro gates gross exposure. Regime context (32.04 R- — Risk Off) → defensive funds stay in core; beta funds rotate within the book, not expand it blindly.
2
Daily screen ≠ automatic trade. The day's #1 candidate and the 7-day aggregate leader can differ — the agent needs both horizons, not just the latest signal.
3
Council is the constraint layer. No trade runs until the committee records its decision — including disagreements, guardrails, and what was actually executed. That record is public on each fund page.
