Messy Fund Update

Latest update

Fund / Signal update · 29 August 2026 · vnext-2026-07-24

Weekly workflow proof for Messy-managed micro test funds on Base: Guru Lotus books base04, base05, and base06, plus Lagoon books lg-base01 and lg-base02. Screening prepares evidence; the Chair decides; the system records the resolution; only then can execution mutate the book. Macro and narrative below are the postures those sessions used, not a live market refresh at publish time.

Custody / provider

This week's public micro books use two Base custody adapters. base04, base05, and base06 sit on Guru Lotus vaults. Messy's engine runs research, council decisioning, and trade construction; capital on those books sits in Guru's vault contracts. On the Guru books, the trading key can trade but cannot withdraw, a limit enforced by the vault contracts, not our software. lg-base01 and lg-base02 sit on Lagoon vaults for custody and share accounting. Provider-side contract failure is venue risk on either adapter. Keys live in Turnkey; our backend never holds key material.

For the blast-radius map (engine vs custody vs token), see Custody Broke. The Engine Didn’t..

This week at a glance

  • base04 NAV $46.06 (-9.5% 7d, 5 exec / 0 hold).
  • NPC led aggregate screens this week — a candidate signal, not an automatic trade.

Across the councils

  • Chairs called out rank/aggregate divergence to reconfirm before further sizing increases. (base04, base06; 2 funds).

What's new in the app

  • Fund pages in the app now include full council minutes. Open any fund and tap Council to read what the portfolio committee debated, what the Chair decided, and whether trades were executed. How the AI investment council works →
  • The public suite is still five micro books: Guru Lotus base04, base05, and base06, plus Lagoon lg-base01 and lg-base02. Closed verification books base01 and base02 stay off this page. The marketing site now lists only the same current books as app.messyvirgo.com/funds. Screens still stop at ideas: council and execution decide size, venue, and fills.

Closing session

Cash 17.5% → 14.2% · Base 15.9% → 16% · High-beta 66.6% → 69.8%

Recommended movement is cash -3.3%, base +0.0%, high beta +3.2%; each change remains inside the configured session movement caps of cash 15.0%, base 15.0%, and high beta 15.0%.

  • Capacity is thin: only one unfunded new-entry slot and $1.50 deployable cash outside sell-funded capital; any addition beyond a single sell-funded replacement risks exceeding capacity.
  • PM proposals disagree on funding source (chad+kibshi exit vs taboshi trim) and on the new entrant (keycat vs roost vs none); Chair should reconcile to avoid double-counting the single available entry slot.
  • Miggles' fresh-rank fall to 10 versus aggregate rank 2 needs a second confirming session before any trim decision is warranted.

base05 — council & book

Closing session · executed reconciled · 29 August 2026

The council's rebalance executed and reconciled, rotating the fund's single beta sleeve — exiting riz and dickbutt and adding axgt and os — inside a ratified posture shift toward high beta (roughly cash 15%, base 17%, high beta 68%), though realized post-execution weights are not yet available to confirm that target was reached.

  • Book sits at 5 positions, near the low end of the derived 4-10 breadth band; adding axgt/os for breadth is reasonable but neither addition has been reconciled with capacity limits (max 7 new entries, $7.20…
  • Guru execution route invariant applies: any beta rotation must decompose into sell-to-reserve and reserve-to-buy legs; no direct riz->axgt or dickbutt->os style swaps are valid regardless of PM framing.
  • UP has lost all screening coverage and was not formally adjudicated as a divergent incumbent this session; it is held one more session on continuity grounds but its thesis verifiability remains unresolved.

base06 — council & book

Closing session · executed reconciled · 29 August 2026

The council's rebalance executed and reconciled, exiting two coverage-dark positions, adding one cautious new breadth position, and resizing eight others, while raising the fund's high-beta posture from about 67% toward a ratified target near 70% (with cash down to about 14.2% and base up to about 15.8%); realized post-execution weights are not yet confirmed against that target.

What this teaches the future Fund Agent

1
Macro gates exposure. Use the session-frozen regime the council actually saw (this week: Risk-on (R+)) — not a later live refresh.
2
Daily screen ≠ automatic trade. Aggregate leaders inform the slate; they do not bypass Chair decision or execution gates.
3
Chair decides, system records. Seats analyze and propose; the Chair adjudicates; minutes and execution receipts stay public on each fund’s Council tab.
