Messy Fund Update
Latest update
Fund / Signal update · 22 August 2026 · vnext-2026-07-24
Weekly workflow proof for Messy-managed micro test funds on Base: Guru Lotus books base04, base05, and base06, plus Lagoon books lg-base01 and lg-base02. Screening prepares evidence; the Chair decides; the system records the resolution; only then can execution mutate the book. Macro and narrative below are the postures those sessions used, not a live market refresh at publish time.
Custody / provider
This week's public micro books use two Base custody adapters. base04, base05, and base06 sit on Guru Lotus vaults. Messy's engine runs research, council decisioning, and trade construction; capital on those books sits in Guru's vault contracts. On the Guru books, the trading key can trade but cannot withdraw, a limit enforced by the vault contracts, not our software. lg-base01 and lg-base02 sit on Lagoon vaults for custody and share accounting. Provider-side contract failure is venue risk on either adapter. Keys live in Turnkey; our backend never holds key material.

What's new in the app
- Fund pages in the app now include full council minutes. Open any fund and tap Council to read what the portfolio committee debated, what the Chair decided, and whether trades were executed. How the AI investment council works →
- Two Guru Lotus verification books closed this week (base01 and base02). Two Lagoon books joined this public suite: lg-base01 and lg-base02. Guru Lotus workflow books still on the page are base04, base05, and base06. Screens still stop at ideas: council and execution decide size, venue, and fills.

base04 — council & book
The rebalance executed and reconciled, trimming crash, toby, and cocoro and adding to taboshi within a ratified posture move that raised cash to about 25.6% and cut high beta to about 37% while holding base steady; realized post-execution weights are not yet available.
Week strip: Mon exec · Wed hold · Thu hold · Fri exec · Sat exec · 5 sessions
Week net · Cash 30.2% → 25.6% · Base 39.2% → 37.4% · High-beta 30.6% → 37%
Wed hold 100% of beta book value sits in narratives with negative 30d momentum vs TOTAL3ES; this is context already priced into the locked flat high-beta posture, not a fresh signal to act on.
Closing session
Cash 24.7% → 25.6% · Base 37.4% · High-beta 37.9% → 37%
Recommendation was projected onto the regime-band convergence step by validation.
- PM recommendations disagree on which single holding should absorb the -0.9% high-beta trim (crash, toby, or cocoro), each argued from single-session rank/score drift rather than thesis invalidation; the Chair…
- Any trim sized to satisfy only the -0.9% posture delta is small relative to per-token minimum ticket and round-trip cost; oversizing a trim beyond the mandated amount to chase a reshuffle is not supported by…
- COCORO and DIME remain absent from the latest fresh screening run; this is being treated as single-session divergence per the shared guardrail, but persistence into a second session would elevate the case for…

base05 — council & book
The rebalance executed and reconciled, exiting taboshi on coverage-death grounds, adding a new blocktronics position, and increasing UP (The Upsider AI), while the fund posture moved to roughly 28% cash, 39% base, and 33% high beta from about 27/40/33; realized post-execution weights are not yet available.
Week strip: Mon exec · Wed exec · Thu exec · Fri exec · Sat exec · 5 sessions
Week net · Cash 27.4% → 28.1% · Base 34.9% → 39% · High-beta 37.7% → 32.9%
Wed exec High-beta bucket sits 13pp above its regime ceiling; the ratified posture already mandates the reduction path proposed by all PM seats — no residual policy risk beyond executing it this session.
Closing session
Cash 26.9% → 28.1% · Base 40.4% → 39% · High-beta 32.7% → 32.9%
Recommendation was projected onto the regime-band convergence step by validation.
- Sell-fundable capacity ($17.71) is thin against two proposed new entries plus minimum ticket sizing; sizing should be conservative.
- Links carries an elevated 95bps exit cost versus near-zero for other holdings; factor into any future exit planning.
- Blocktronics' fall from aggregate rank 2 to 7 needs confirmation over several more sessions before it is trusted as sustained strength rather than fading momentum.

base06 — council & book
The rebalance executed and reconciled, mutating the fund's book.
Week strip: Mon exec · Wed exec · Thu exec · Fri exec · Sat exec · 7 sessions
Week net · Cash 30.8% → 28.5% · Base 38.2% → 38.5% · High-beta 30.9% → 33%
Wed exec Acu is fresh-only relative to its screening history: 3/7 aggregate appearances, aggregate rank 9 despite fresh rank 3 — pedigree is thin and should be sized cautiously, not treated as high-conviction.
Closing session
Cash 30.2% → 28.5% · Base 38.5% · High-beta 31.3% → 33%
Recommendation was projected onto the regime-band convergence step by validation.
- Beta increase to 33% should route via the cash reserve per ratified posture; any sell-funded incumbent trim to fund the same increase must decompose into sell_beta→reserve and reserve→buy_beta legs, never a…
- spx shows a sharp fresh(1) vs aggregate(8) rank divergence with only 3/7 aggregate appearances — treat as thin, momentum-timing evidence rather than a confirmed multi-session pick.
- Tibbir at 10.8% NAV is the fund's largest position; further add-on concentration into it is not supported by this session's proposals and would need explicit justification.

lg-base01 — council & book
The council's rebalance executed and reconciled, actually mutating the fund's holdings.
Week strip: Tue session · Wed session · Thu exec · Fri exec · Sat exec · 9 sessions
Thu exec Effective regime score (~28) is materially more risk-off than the observed raw score (~52) due to a high-confidence adverse news overlay; size new entries conservatively given this divergence even though…
Closing session
Cash 53.7% → 38.7% · Base 25.4% → 32% · High-beta 20.9% → 29.3%
Recommendation was projected onto the regime-band convergence step by validation.
- NEMESIS is 9.8% of NAV, the fund's largest position, with fresh rank 2 vs aggregate rank 8 — a one-session divergence, not yet a sustained deterioration, but a real concentration item into a beta-expanding…
- ALTT is down -15.5% unrealized / -10.0% 24h with ATR% and distance-to-180d-high both rising — thesis not yet invalidated but the adverse move is real and should size any hold or trim decision carefully.
- UP exit cost is 229 bps and volume is thin ($862 24h) — any future reduction here will pay a real liquidity premium.
Top aggregate candidates — 7-day lookback , as of 22 August 2026
lg-base02 — council & book
The rebalance executed and reconciled, exiting ACU, adding a small NEMESIS position, increasing ALTT, and trimming UP, while the fund's ratified posture moved toward about 39% base, 28% cash, and 33% high beta; realized post-execution weights are not yet confirmed.
Week strip: Wed exec · Thu exec · Fri exec · Sat exec · 5 sessions
Week net · Cash 100% → 28% · Base 0% → 39% · High-beta 0% → 33%
Thu exec Beta book breadth is being expanded materially in one session (up to 9-10 names) to absorb a 15pp posture move; execution cost of spreading small tickets across thin-liquidity names should be monitored.
Closing session
Cash 28.3% → 28% · Base 40.3% → 39% · High-beta 31.4% → 33%
Recommendation was projected onto the regime-band convergence step by validation.
- Nemesis and zro are fresh-only candidates with no aggregate screening history; size any addition small until durability is confirmed across sessions.
- Up's exit cost of 224bps is the highest in the book; any further reduction there should account for this executable friction, not just screening divergence.
- Tibbir shows a fresh-rank-8-vs-aggregate-rank-1 single-session divergence; this is noise under the patience doctrine and does not warrant action this session.
